2015 ended and 2016 begun with an incredible fireworks display in one of the most hectic city's, Sydney. With work coming to an end and not wanting to miss any days off we set off towards Newcastle straight after work on 30th, driving 5 hours along the never ending Pacific Highway. We arrived in Sydney at midday, after gathering some bits for a picnic we then marched down to Observatory Hill Park. We were early and had our choice of spots to set up. We chose a shaded spot under a tree to set up our camp for the next 11 hours. I can think of worse ways to spend a day, sitting on a hill with magnificent views of Sydney's harbour. However the view didn't change much, hours slowly ticked by, and the sun slowly set on the last day of 2015. Our long wait was briefly interrupted by an early fireworks display for young kids struggling to stay awake, but it was nothing in comparison to the midnight firework display. In the last couple hours of 2015 Liam and I reflected on our best and worst moments from that year, one of which occurred in that very city which involved goon(a 4L sack of unripened grapes made into something to resemble wine), and a missed flight, setting me back $400. Here's to a new year of many more mistakes, and even more lessons learnt!
