One of the benefits, of being in a long distance relationship with a fellow traveller, is that when you do get to see each other again, it's in a new and exciting location. Since Liam is based in Australia at the moment, I've been travelling around a bit to see him. In February, I was in Melbourne for 8 days. And only a few weeks ago, I was in Sydney. It's been a really great opportunity to explore a bit more of our sunny neighbour, Australia, since my only trip there previously was on a family holiday to the Gold Coast when I was about 8 years old. And obviously a great opportunity to get to see Liam, visits aren't as frequent as we would like, but alas, I have not won the lottery yet.

Above are a few photos from my recent trip to Sydney. We were staying in a house we found on airbnb (great website, so do have a look if you're planning a trip of your own somewhere) out in Kirrawee near Cronulla Beach. It was really nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and since our place backed onto a National Reserve, we had nature's alarm clock waking us up every morning. We did still make a few trips into the CBD, including: going to the theatre to watch Les Miserables, catching the ferry to Manly beach, and catching the train to the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains were a definite highlight. The number of trees there are is just unfathomable, we tried to count them all but gave up after about 10.
I'm excited to see what else the city has to offer during my next trip in 22 days time. Not that I'm counting.
Keep an eye out for Sydney part two!
