After visiting Scotland, we flew to Dublin where we went on another 3 day tour around The Republic of Ireland. This was a Shamrocker Tour called 'The Southern Rocker'. I definitely recommend it.
Day One:
We made our way from Dublin to Killarney. On our way we stopped at Blarney Castle where we kissed the Blarney Stone in hope to gain the gift of the gab. Upon arriving in Killarney a few of us went for a walk to the National Park. We left around twilight, just in time to catch the sunset over the lake. In the evening we drank and listened to an Irish story-teller called Pa.
Day Two:
Our second day we went from Killarney to Ennis. We drove along the Dingle Peninsula taking in some of the most incredible sights. A lot of the countryside reminded me a lot of home. Not unsurprising as it's believed the south of Ireland was once, many millions of years ago, right next to New Zealand. I found that very interesting. We went to Coumeenole Beach where, because the sea is so strong, it sucks away part of your soul if you stand in it. We spent our last night in Ennis where we went to a traditional Irish Pub to listen to some local Irish music.
Day Three:
Our final day today as we make our way back to Dublin. Along our journey we listened to our guide talk about the sad history of Ireland and how it gained it's independence. We made some incredible stops along the way though, such as the Cliffs of Moher. The great weather made for perfect viewing of the majestic cliffs. Definitely my favourite stop on the trip. We all agreed it would be the best proposal spot too. We also explored Ireland's lunar landscape in Burren, seeing the Poulnabrone Dolmen, and stopped for lunch in Galway, the cultural city of Ireland. It was a gorgeous city with so many musicians filling the main street with their songs. Our three day tour came to an end just before sun down as we arrived in Dublin.
