Out and About in Scotland

Arthur's seat

Edinburgh Castle
Glasgow
Upon first arriving in Edinburgh, Scotland, we decided to check out Arthur's Seat. I had first heard of it in the book One Day, and it's meant to have the best views of the city. Judging by the photos I managed to take I hope you all agree. After being put wrong by Google maps, what was meant to be a 10 minute walk ended up being a 45 minute climb. We got to the top out of breath and sweaty, but then the breeze hit and I felt an amazing sense of accomplishment. I think we timed it perfectly, arriving just in time to catch the sunset. The beauty in that view is hard to describe, and my amateur photos don't even begin to capture it. I recommend to anyone going to Edinburgh to climb Arthur's Seat. Truly worth it!
That night we stumbled across an art project called 'The Field of Light' that was laid out in the Town Square. Really lit up the town and added something a bit more magical to Edinburgh.

We then went on a 3 day tour (blog post coming shortly) but, on returning, spent our last day at Edinburgh Castle. This is also a must-see. Although the weather wasn't that great, the views over the city were still incredible.

We then spent St Patrick's Day in Glasgow. We went to the Transport Museum, Botanic Gardens and explored the city a little bit. Although my time in Glasgow wasn't as well documented, it was still a great city. Better known for it's night life.
My time spent in both cities was amazing and you can't really compare the two. Either way, I feel like I didn't have enough time to see everything each city had to offer. Hopefully I will return again in July.
